Plain detonators are used in conjunction with safety fuse in blasting applications like opencast mining, quarrying, road and dam constructions, etc.  Detanator  is crimped to end of the fuse by a special crimper and fire is conveyed by the help of safety fuse which initiates the detonator. Delay time depends on the length and burning speed of the fuse.
